Scope: This standard specifies the analysis and determination methods of amino acid composition and content in silk. This standard applies to the determination of eighteen kinds of amino acid components in silk. Aspartic acid (Asp), threonine (Thr), serine (Ser), glutamic acid (Glu), glycine (Gly), alanine (Ala), valine (Val), isoleucine (Ile), Leucine (Leu), Tyrosine (Tyr), Phenylalanine (Phe), Lysine (Lys), Histidine (His), Arginine (Arg), Proline (Pro) Determination by acid hydrolysis method. If cystine (Cys) and methionine (Met) cannot be accurately determined by acid hydrolysis method, oxidative hydrolysis method should be used for determination. Tryptophan (Trp) should be determined by alkaline hydrolysis method. The minimum detection limit is 10 pmol.
