- This standard specifies the requirements for industrial radiation tomography (hereinafter referred to as industrial CT) testing of electron beam welded joints for aero-engines on testing personnel, environmental conditions, testing equipment, comparison specimens, testing processes, testing procedures, testing records, result evaluation, and testing reporting requirements, etc. This standard is applicable to the detection of internal defects in electron beam welded joints used in aerospace engines. Industrial CT inspection of other welded joints of aerospace engines can be performed with reference to this standard.
