Scope
"The standard describes the effects of vibrations on the tower or the nacelle, resulting from wind and waves at offshore plants, flow disturbances immediately in front of the tower, as well as natural vibrations of the rotor blades and the building structure. The application of the standard allows unified vibration measurements and supports the evaluation with reference values. Furthermore, it allows for the comparable assessment of measured vibrations of wind turbines and their components. The basis of the assessment values is a statistical analysis of vibration measurements from a large number of wind turbines with gearboxes collected by manufacturers, insurers and servicing companies. The standard also provides information on balancing the main rotor on-site."
