Scope
This part of ISO 16000 provides recommendations for the sampling strategy for detecting indoor mold. Suitable sampling and detection methods are described and information is given on the applicability and interpretation of the measurement results in order to achieve the greatest possible comparability of the measurement data obtained for a specified measurement task. A precise description of the inspection by competent persons, which must take place before any microbiological measurement, is not included in the recommendations. A precise description of the building physics and building energy procedures that may be used during the inspection is not the subject of this part of ISO 16000. A quantitative assessment of the exposure of room users using the methods and procedures mentioned here is not possible. The application of this part of ISO 16000 requires knowledge of ISO 16000-1.
