Scope
This International Standard specifies methods for measuring heat and water vapor resistance under steady-state conditions, e.g. B. textiles, films, coatings, foams and leather, including multi-layer material structures for use in clothing, quilts, sleeping bags, seat structures and similar textile or textile-like products. The application of the measuring method is limited to certain maximum values of the heat and water vapor resistance, which depend on the dimensions and design of the measuring device used (e.g. 2 m2 K/W or 700 m2 Pa/W for the minimum requirements specified in this International standard must be applied to the measuring device). The test conditions chosen in this standard are not intended to simulate specific comfort situations. Also, no requirement values are given with regard to achieving good thermo-physiological comfort.
