- Scope
- This part of ISO 6509 specifies a method for determining the dezincification depth of copper-zinc alloys exposed to water, saline aqueous solutions or drinking water. The process is intended for copper-zinc alloys that have a mass fraction of zinc of more than 15%. This part of ISO 6509 describes the test procedure only and does not specify acceptance criteria of materials for a specific application. The acceptance criteria are described in ISO 6509-2. NOTE The procedure may be used outside the scope of application as part of a review or for research purposes.
