Scope

This standard specifies the terms and definitions, performance requirements and bench test methods of the air dryer assembly (hereinafter referred to as the dryer) used in automobile air brake systems. This standard applies to desiccant regeneration air dryers used in automotive air brake systems. This standard does not apply to non-intermittent desiccant air dryers.
