Scope

This standard specifies the static headspace-gas chromatography method for the determination of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) in packaging materials. This standard is applicable to the determination of volatile organic compounds with known chemical composition in packaging materials. Volatile organic compounds produced by thermal degradation of packaging materials are not within the scope of this standard.
