Scope

This standard specifies a method for measuring the strength of the bond (shear strength) between the carrier and lining materials in disc brake pad and drum brake shoe assemblies. This standard is applicable to both types of brakes used on road vehicles, either in integrally molded or glued assemblies or using mechanical retention systems (MRS). This standard does not apply to riveted assemblies.?
