Scope

This standard specifies a test method to determine the resistance to salt spray of optical systems and instruments containing optical components under identical conditions. Typically, representative samples or small-sized finished products are used for testing. Larger finished instruments or assemblies may only be specifically tested by this standard in exceptional cases.
