Pilots, crews and passengers of land, air or sea vehicles and mobile machinery used in places other than public roads are exposed to mechanical vibrations that reduce their comfort, work efficiency and, in some cases, harm their safety and health. Such vehicles and mobile machines are equipped with seats designed and manufactured to control or reduce whole-body vibration transmission. To assist in the development of such seats, specific test standards are established to evaluate the performance of the seats. Has been developed or is being developed. The following basic requirements were developed to describe the conditions for testing vibrations transmitted to occupants through vehicle seats and to evaluate the seat's ability to control shocks resulting from excessive behavior of the suspension. This standard specifies the basics required to conduct tests of vibration transmitted to seated occupants through vehicle seats in a laboratory. Using these measurement and analysis methods, it is possible to compare test results from different laboratories on the same seat. This standard specifies test methods, equipment installation requirements, measurement evaluation methods, and test result report preparation methods. The standard applies to vehicles and mobile off-road machines used in places other than public roads.
