KS I ISO 12219-3:2013 Interior air of road vehicles ― Part 3: Screening method for the determination of the emissions of volatile organic compounds from vehicle interior parts and materials ― Micro-scale chamber method
This standard specifies a screening test method to quickly, qualitatively, and semi-quantitatively measure gaseous organic compounds (volatile and some semi-volatile) emitted from automobile interior materials under actual use conditions using a microchamber. This standard primarily evaluates interior components of new vehicles, but can also be applied to existing vehicle components. The target analytes are VOCs (volatile organic compounds that generally range from n-hexane to n-hexadecane). defined as compounds) and volatile carbonyl compounds such as formaldehyde. Detailed analysis procedures for VOCs follow KS I ISO 16000-6, and for formaldehyde and some other carbonyl compounds follow KS IISO 16000-3. This standard complements existing standards and is manufactured by third-party testing laboratories as follows. Provides high cost effectiveness to companies:
——Monitoring and screening of VOC emissions as part of general quality control - Monitoring product homogeneity and conformity between formal certification tests - Comparing emissions of various products, including different colors/patterns - Low-emission materials/products Evaluation of prototypes during development
