KS C IEC 61853-1:2013 Photovoltaic Module performance testing and energy rating – Part 1: Irradiance and temperature performance measurements and power rating
This standard describes the requirements for evaluating solar module performance in terms of rated power (watt) over a certain range of irradiation intensity and temperature. IEC 61853-2 test procedures for measuring the performance effect of angle of incidence; Temperature prediction of the module from irradiation intensity, ambient temperature, and wind speed; The impact of spectral response on energy production is discussed. IEC 61853-3 describes the calculation of solar module energy. IEC 61853-4 describes the time zones and weather conditions that can be used in the calculation of rated energy. The purpose of this standard is to define test methods and rating systems for solar modules at their maximum output under specified conditions. The second objective is to provide overall characteristic values of the module for various irradiation intensities and temperatures. These measurements are needed to evaluate the module energy rating described in IEC 61853-3.
