This standard specifies general principles for the construction and operation of temperature-controlled cabinets for holding or testing specimens. Certain tests, such as aging tests, may require special procedural conditions or equipment other than those specified in this standard. In such cases, these requirements shall be included in the test method and shall be used in place of the requirements of this standard. This standard applies to the general provisions for testing rubber and other elastic materials at temperatures above or below normal temperature.
