Scope: This standard specifies the requirements for the performance, design, materials, welding, quality control, testing and inspection, marking, handling, storage and transportation of managed pressure drilling systems used for drilling oil and gas wells. This standard applies to the design, manufacture and inspection of managed pressure drilling systems. The managed pressure drilling system specified in this standard uses the following tools to achieve managed pressure drilling operations: a) Rotating blowout preventer; b) Drilling tool check valve; c) Annulus pressure measurement device while drilling; d) Throttling and killing wells Manifold. This standard does not apply to managed pressure drilling systems that use adjusting drilling fluid density to control wellbore pressure profiles.
