- This part of SY/T 6986 specifies the design requirements, minimum safety requirements, remote control system requirements, and inspection and testing procedures for shipboard transfer arms used in LNG terminals. It also specifies the minimum requirements for the safe transportation of LNG between ships and shores. This section is applicable to the design and testing of the transfer arms of new LNG terminals. The expansion and reconstruction of LNG terminals can be implemented as a reference. This section does not apply to the design and manufacture of parts and accessories related to the conveyor arm.
