This standard specifies the test specimen preparation method and test method to be used for measuring the physical properties of polybutylene-1 (PB-1) molded and extruded materials. For simplicity, the designation polybutylene and the abbreviation PB are used in KS M ISO 8986-1 and KS M ISO 8986-2. It also specifies requirements for the handling of test materials and conditioning of test materials and specimens before forming before testing. This standard specifies procedures and conditions for making test specimens and procedures for measuring material properties from fabricated test specimens. Lists each physical property and test method appropriate and necessary to determine the characteristics of PB molding and extrusion materials. The physical properties are extracted from the general test methods specified in KS M ISO 10350-1. Just as Part 1 of KS M ISO 8986 specifies properties for nominal purposes, Part 2 specifies widely used test methods and other particularly important test methods for molded and extruded materials. It provides reproducible and comparable test results. To achieve this, the test specimen production, condition control, test specimen dimensions, and test procedures specified in this standard must be applied. The results of measurements made according to this standard do not necessarily correspond to the results obtained from test specimens of different dimensions or made by other methods.
