This standard generally specifies a forced non-resonant method for measuring components of the tensile complex modulus E* of polymers at frequencies ranging from 0.01 Hz to 100 Hz. This method is suitable for measuring dynamic storage modulus in the range of 0.01 GPa to 5 GPa. Although measurements are possible for materials with elastic moduli outside this range, measurements using other deformation modes provide higher accuracy. For example, for E´<0.01 GPa, shear mode (refer to KS M ISO 6721-6) is used, and for E´>5 GPa, bending deformation method is used (refer to KS MISO 6721-3 or KS M ISO 6721-5). .This method is particularly suitable for measuring loss coefficients greater than 0.1 and can therefore be conveniently used to study changes in dynamic properties with temperature and frequency in most glass-rubber relaxation regions (KS M ISO6721-1 , see 9.4). From the results measured over a wide range of frequencies and temperatures, a master plot can be obtained that shows the dynamic properties in different temperature and frequency ranges using the frequency/temperature transition method.
