This standard specifies the requirements and corresponding test methods for all manufactured and natural iron oxide pigments in dry form suitable for general use. These pigments are identified by color index numbers1) red 101 and 102, yellow 42 and 43, brown 6 and 7 and black 11 and include 'fast dispersing pigments'. This standard covers micaceous iron oxides other than color index Pigment black 11. It does not contain pigments (see Note 1), transparent iron oxide pigments, granular gray iron oxide (see Note 2) or magnetic iron oxide pigments.
