This standard specifies methods for manually sampling refrigerated liquefied dimethyl ether (DME) at terminals at loading and unloading ports, and also prescribes precautions to ensure safety during sampling operations. However, safety measures for equipment used for sampling, such as sampling lines and sample cylinders, are mostly regulated by national regulatory requirements and are therefore limited to general conditions. This standard specifies the location of the sampling point on the sampling line or vessel. This standard can also be applied, with modifications as necessary, to:
——Sampling onboard liquefied gas tankers with suitable sampling equipment - Other cases with similar chemical and physical properties to DME. Sampling of cooled non-petroleum liquefied gas fuels The detailed chemical and physical properties of DME are different from LPG. This suggests that DME requires different precautions than LPG. However, since its basic properties are similar, this standard mentions LPG precautions applied in many countries. For quality precautions, please refer to the individual sections of this standard.
