Scope: This standard covers the following issues in fire testing of plastic materials and products: 　——Selection of appropriate tests that reflect actual field use conditions - Grouping of fire response properties that can be measured by the specified test(s). ― Evaluation of relevant tests in areas such as material properties, quality control, preliminary preliminary testing, end product testing, environmental assessment and Design for Ecology (DfE); ― Assessment of possible problems that may arise when testing plastics in standard fire tests. Definitions The scope of this standard does not include the development or design of new fire tests for plastics. However, the flexibility of approach with regard to specimen mounting and fixation can be valuable when considering the evaluation methods of different plastics used in different ways by fire test laboratories and certification bodies.
