- Scope
- This standard specifies the test method for obtaining the root mean square (RMS) particle size of photographic materials by scanning with a microdensitometer. Its purpose is to provide a basic requirement for correct measurement - exposure system, basic parameters and requirements of density measurement system, sample preparation, measurement method and result presentation and so on. This standard applies to black and white and color continuous tone photosensitive materials with transparent supports. This standard does not apply to reflective materials (all kinds of photographic papers) and photosensitive materials coated with emulsion on both sides of the support (such as X-ray film).
