This standard specifies four methods to determine the susceptibility of nickel alloys to intergranular corrosion. This method is for laboratory testing of sensitivity, and unless the test conditions are the same as the actual conditions, it is not directly related to intergranular corrosion in actual use environments. May not be relevant.Test methods include the following:
——Method A: Iron (III) sulfate - sulfuric acid test - Method B: Copper-copper sulfate - 16 % sulfuric acid test - Method C: Hydrochloric acid test - Method D: Nitric acid test There should be agreement between the orderer and manufacturer of the alloy regarding the testing methods appropriate for the use of a given alloy, the selection of sensitization treatment methods, and any other evaluation criteria. As a guideline, the method specified in this standard should be applied to nickel alloys used in corrosive environments listed in KS DISO 6207.
