Scope
This standard specifies the minimum requirements for safety and performance of fuel cell modules. This standard applies to fuel cell modules having the following electrolyte chemistries: ——Alkaline - Hydrogen ion exchange membranes (including direct methanol fuel cells) - Phosphoric acid - Molten carbonates - Solid oxides - Aqueous solutions of saltsFuel cell modules may contain or It may not be included and may be operated under pressurized or atmospheric pressure conditions. This standard only covers conditions that may cause harm to people and damage the exterior of the fuel cell module. Even if it does not cause any harm or damage to the exterior of the fuel cell module, this standard does not address how to prevent damage to the interior of the fuel cell module. This requirement does not apply to the equipment or equipment containing the fuel cell module as required for a particular application. It may be superseded by other standards. This standard does not apply to transportation. This standard is not intended to limit or impede technological progress. Equipment employing materials or having a construction pattern different from the requirements of this standard may be examined and tested in accordance with these requirements. And if such devices are determined to be substantially equivalent, they can be considered compliant with this standard. The fuel cell module is a component of the final product. These products require evaluation of the appropriate end product safety requirements. This standard specifies the direct current output of fuel cell modules.
