This clause of Part 1 is replaced by the following: This standard deals with the safety of electric projectors and similar electrical equipment for household and similar purposes with a rated voltage of 250 V or less. Even if the equipment is not normally used in the home, it must be made available to the public. Potentially hazardous devices, i.e. devices that may be used by the general public in schools, offices, stores and similar locations, must also comply with this standard. This standard covers the typical hazards that people may face from devices around the home. This standard does not normally cover the following conditions:
——Persons (children) who are unable to use the device safely without supervision or instruction due to lack of physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge; (includes children playing with devices)
