Scope
Part 1 of KS C IEC 60331 specifies test equipment and procedures and specifies low-voltage power cables with a rated voltage of up to 0.6/1.0 kV and a rated voltage required to maintain circuit integrity when subjected to fire and mechanical shock under specified conditions. Contains performance requirements, including recommended flame application times for control cables. This standard applies to cables with a finished outer diameter exceeding 20 mm. This standard describes specimen preparation methods, continuity check arrangements, electrical test procedures, cable burning methods, shock generation methods, and specifies requirements for evaluating test results. Annex A describes the verification method for burners and control systems used for testing. It specifies identification requirements that may be marked on cables to indicate compliance with this standard.
