This standard specifies a method for testing the laser resistance of vent pipes. Other components, such as inflation systems and cuffs, are not covered in this standard. Specified test methods should not be used to describe or evaluate the properties of materials, products, or assemblies that react to heat and flame under controlled laboratory conditions and the fire hazard of materials, products, or assemblies. However, the results of this test can be used as a fire hazard assessment, taking into account all relevant factors in assessing the risk of any specific end use.
