- This standard specifies the scope of application, requirements, test methods, markings and instructions for use, packaging, transportation and storage of intraocular lens implant systems. This standard applies to integrated (pre-assembled) or separate intraocular lens implant systems (hereinafter referred to as implant systems: including injectors, guide heads and other components). The implant system is used to fold and inject a foldable intraocular lens into the lens capsular bag or into the ciliary sulcus after cataract removal or during refractive eye surgery.
