- The aim of the directive is to facilitate the inclusion of environmental aspects in the packaging planning and design process and to enable the environmental compatibility of packaging to be assessed based on defined criteria. The evaluation should be seen primarily as an instrument for environmentally oriented control of the packaging concepts developed.
