This standard specifies the technical requirements, test methods and inspection rules for porcelain-jacketed and composite-jacketed DC gapless metal oxide arresters (hereinafter referred to as arresters) with a rated voltage of 4.8kV and below. This standard applies to arresters that protect traction motors and electrical equipment from overvoltage damage in DC systems of 3kV and below.
