Scope
This standard specifies a very stringent test method for evaluating the ability of activated carbon to remove radioactive tracer methyl iodide from air and gas streams. This method is applicable to both newly produced activated carbon and the performance evaluation of used activated carbon exposed to the operating environment. This test method is recommended as a performance quality qualification test for new activated carbon and for used activated carbon whose performance has been reduced. Performance quality verification testing. This standard does not describe safety-related aspects. If this problem occurs during use, users of this standard should determine appropriate safety and protective measures and effective management systems.
