Scope

This standard specifies the technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules, marking, packaging, transportation and storage requirements of air traffic control airborne transponders (hereinafter referred to as transponders). This standard applies to the design, production and acceptance of various air traffic control airborne transponders. This standard is the basic basis for formulating product standards.
