- This standard specifies the terms, technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules and marking, packaging, transportation and storage requirements of high-frequency signal generators. This standard is applicable to the generation of sinusoidal signals, the frequency range covers part or all of 30kHz-10Hz (allowing the frequency to extend beyond this range) and has one modulation or more than one modulation or combination modulation (these modulations are: sinusoidal frequency modulation, sinusoidal amplitude modulation and pass off-pulse modulation) signal generator. Also suitable for unmodulated high-frequency signal generation in this frequency range. This standard applies to signal generators composed of tunable oscillators and their associated synchronizers, phase-locked signal generators and synthetic signal generators.
