This International Standard specifies a method for measuring the bursting strength of paper subjected to increasing hydraulic pressure. It is applicable to papers with a burst strength between 70 kPa and 1,400 kPa. It is not intended to be used for components (such as corrugated paper or linerboard) of a mixed board, for which the method given in is 2759 is more suitable.
