- This standard specifies two methods for determining the pile length and pile height of pile fabrics, namely the linear method and the instrumental method. This standard applies to all types of velvet-type pile fabrics with pile and ground tissue (base fabric) structures, such as plush, artificial fur, velvet, corduroy, velveteen, etc. This standard does not apply to brushed, sanded and other raised fabrics.
