Scope: This standard specifies the classification and labeling, requirements and test methods, inspection rules and markings, packaging, transportation and storage of grease for wire ropes. This standard applies to steel wire rope grease made from mineral lubricating oil thickened with petroleum hydrocarbons or fatty acid soaps and added with antioxidant, anti-rust and other additives. Products that meet this standard, type I, are wire rope surface greases, suitable for storage, protection and lubrication in wire rope manufacturers. Type Ⅱ is steel wire rope hemp core grease, suitable for the lubrication and anti-corrosion of steel wire rope hemp core. Type III is a grease for wire rope maintenance. It is suitable for the protection and lubrication of the wire rope during use. After inspecting and cleaning the wire rope, it does not need to be heated and can be directly brushed or mechanically added.
