Scope

This part specifies safety-related air conditioning equipment for ventilation, air conditioning and gas handling systems in nuclear facilities, including forced circulation air coolers and heaters, direct evaporative cooling coils, water spray chambers, water evaporation devices and electric heaters. Minimum requirements for design, materials, manufacturing, testing, installation, packaging, transportation, handling, storage, custody and quality assurance. This section applies to components of air conditioning equipment for ventilation, air conditioning and gas handling systems in nuclear facilities. The above components in the air or gas treatment systems of other nuclear projects can also be implemented with reference. This section does not apply to the following air conditioning equipment and related accessories: fans, humidifiers, adsorption dehumidifiers, infrared heating devices, controllers, valves, filters, water seals, water pumps, expansion valves, shell and tube refrigeration evaporators and condenser and compressor.
