——establis es the general principles, applicable to HITU fields, allowing the use of radiation force balances in which an obstacle (target) intercepts the acoustic field to be measured;
——specifies a calorimetric method for determining the power total acoustic emitted by ultrasonic transducers, based on the measurement of thermal expansion of a target fluid;
——specifies requirements for reporting the electrical power characteris ics of ultrasonic transducers;
——provides recommendations to avoid acoustic cavitation during measurement
