Scope

GB/T 13163 includes the general characteristics of testing and calibration of radon and radon progeny measuring instruments, and also specifies the type tests carried out to prove the qualification of the instrument. GB/T 13163.2-2005 and GB/T 13163.3-2014 describe these type tests. This section only deals with instruments and related methods for measuring ²²⁰ Rn and ²²² Rn isotopes and their short-lived daughters in gases. This standard applies to the radon environment test system (STAR) required for testing radon and radon daughter measuring instruments in reference radon gas. The following clauses neither solve all problems relating to equipment used in establishing a reference gas environment for generating radon and its progeny, nor describe all methods used, but may guide those who encounter these problems to be able to choose the best available among all relevant knowledge. good idea.
