- Scope
- This standard gives a method for scratching painted steel panels or test pieces for corrosion testing, where the dry film thickness of the coating system on these painted steel panels or test pieces is less than 500 μm. This standard was developed on the basis of some collaborative tests, which did not carry out corrosion tests to determine the applicability of scratches. This standard applies to scratches on metal plates or test pieces made of the following materials: - steel; - chemically treated steel; - aluminum or aluminum alloy; - chemically treated aluminum. Not suitable for scratching galvanized metal panels, galvanized metal panels, or aluminized test panels.
