Scope

This International Standard describes three methods for calculating the bulk density of soils from measuring the mass and volume of a soil sample. The methods consis of drying and weighing a sample of soil, of known volume (cylinder method, see 4.1) or whose volume must be determined (excavation method, see 4.2, and clod method, see 4.3).
