This European Standard deals with linear phased array transducers used for non-destructive ultrasonic testing - using the contact technique (with or without shoe) or using the immersion technique - having a central frequency between 0.5 MHz and 10 MHz. This European Standard specifies the characterization tests which must be carried out following the manufacture of a multi-element translator. It defines both the methodology and the acceptance criteria. This document does not describe the methods and acceptance criteria for characterizing the performance of multi-element control equipment.
