- Scope
- This standard specifies methods for determining the surface tension of synthetic rubber latex using the platinum ring method and the platinum plate method. This standard applies to synthetic rubber latex with a viscosity less than 200 mPa • s. In order to achieve this viscosity, the total solid content of the sample can be diluted with distilled water to 40% (mass fraction). If the viscosity of the synthetic rubber latex still does not meet the requirements, the sample can be further diluted.
