This European Standard specifies the requirements for manufactured, self-supporting, insulating, two-faced metal sandwich panels used for discontinuous installation in the following cases: a) roofing and cladding; b) exterior walls and wall cladding; c) walls (including partitions) and ceilings within the building envelope. The insulating core materials covered by this European Standard are: rigid polyurethane, expanded polystyrene, extruded polystyrene foam, phenolic foam, cellular glass and mineral wool. NOTE Polyurethane (PUR) includes polyisocyanurate (PIR). This European Standard includes panels whose edges are made of materials other than the main insulating core material. It also includes panels used in cold room applications. The panels, placed on the market as a component of cold storage rooms, buildings and/or building envelope equipment, are the subject of ETA guide 021 "Storage premises equipment refrigerated ". This European Standard does not cover the following: i. sandwich panels whose declared thermal conductivity of the insulating core is greater than 0.06 W/m·K at 10°C; ii. products with two or more clearly defined layers of different insulating core materials (multi-layers); iii. panels with perforated facing(s); iv. curved panels.
