- This standard specifies the purge and trap/gas chromatography method for the determination of 21 volatile organic compounds in water. This standard is applicable to the determination of volatile organic compounds in surface water, groundwater, domestic sewage and industrial wastewater. When the sampling volume is 5 ml, the method detection limit of the target compound is 0.1~0.5 μg/L, and the lower determination limit is 0.4~2.0 μg/L. See Appendix A for details of the specific target compound and detection limit. Other volatile organic compounds can also be analyzed using this method after their applicability has been verified.
