Scope: This standard specifies the structural design and performance of electrical and electronic propeller shaft speed indicators (hereinafter referred to as indicator systems) as required by Article 19, 2.5.4, Chapter V, SOLAS Convention 1974 (and the 2000 Amendment). Requirements, test methods and required test results, etc. This standard is used together with IMO Resolution A.694(17) and IEC 60945 standard. When the requirements of this standard are inconsistent with IEC 60945, this standard shall take precedence.
