Scope

This standard classifies and specifies the performance requirements for metal materials used to make dental restoration devices and restorations, including metal materials used for porcelain or not for porcelain, or both. In addition, this standard specifies the packaging and labeling requirements for products, as well as the requirements for providing instructions for use of materials. This standard does not apply to dental amalgam (ISO 24234), dental welding materials (ISO 9333), or metal materials for orthodontics (ISO 15841) (such as orthodontic wire, brackets, bands and screws, etc.).
