Scope: This standard specifies the requirements for replaceable glow starters (hereinafter referred to as "starters") for preheating fluorescent lamps. Part 1 specifies the general requirements and safety requirements that starters should comply with. Part 2 specifies the performance requirements for starters. Additional requirements for glow starters for Class II fluorescent lamps are specified in Appendix B.
