This standard specifies the requirements for the design, manufacture, testing and documentation of ball valves, check valves, gate valves and plug valves used in pipeline systems in the oil and gas industry. This standard applies to pipeline systems in the oil and gas industry, and ball valves, check valves, gate valves and plug valves that meet the requirements of GB/T 24259 "Pipeline Transmission Systems for Oil and Gas Industry". This standard does not apply to subsea pipeline valves. This standard does not apply to valves with rated pressure values exceeding PN 420 (Class 2500). The ordering guide provided in Appendix A will help the buyer determine the type of valve and determine the special requirements of the valve.
