Scope
This standard specifies the magnetic particle testing technology and methods, quality guidelines and testing records for cylindrical helical compression springs (hereinafter referred to as springs) made of ferromagnetic materials. This standard applies to springs with steel wire diameter d ≥ 1 mm, including spiral springs with various special-shaped cross-section wires with arc transitions.
